WOOL PRODUCTION.
POSITION OF GROWERS. STATED BY MR. HUGHES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, August 17. 'Mr. W. M. Hughes conferred with the executive of the Wool Federation privately. A statement subsequently issued to the Press states that various matters affecting both the Bradford trade and wool-producing in Australia were discussed. It was felt that Mr. Hughes had rendered a great service in stating the position of the wool-growers, but the members of the federation thought Mr. Hughes had not previously realised the circumstances and problems which obtain here. One of the Objects of the conference was to prove that the interests of the growers and those of the buyers were inseparable. The intention of the conference has been amply justified and resulted in a better understanding of each other’s difficulties. Both Mr. Hughes and the members left the conference with strong hopes of closer co-operation and good permanent results in future.
