WAIKATO BEAT BAY OF PLENTY. NINE POINTS TO THREE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, Last Night. ■Waikato beat Bay of Plenty to-dny by 9 points to 3. There was no score in the first spell. In the second spell Stewart and Morris scored tries and C. Clarkin kicked a goal from a mark for Waikato, and just on the call of time Stewart scored a try for Bay of Plenty. HAWKE’S BAY BEAT WANGANUI. MATCH OF MANY SCORES. Napier, Last Night. Wanganui played Hawke’s Bay at W'aipukurau to-day in the presence of .about 1500 spectators. It was a fast and even game, but the play was of a somewhat ragged character, chiefly remarkable for the largo scoring, an aggregate of 40 points being recorded. The result was in doubt up to the last whistle, victory finally going to Hawke’s Bay by 22 points to 18. Tries for the winners wore scored by Miller, Kivell, McNab, Blake, Barclay and Grenslde, two being converted by Kuril. For the losers the try-getters were Smith, Ross, Potaka,/ Hartley, Cox and Crotty. The weather was perfect and the ground in good trim. TOUR OF THE SPRINGBOKS. PROPOSED REARRANGEMENT. Wellington, August 17. Advice was received at last night’s meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union that the following rearrangement of the South African tour would be submitted to Mr. Bennett, manager of tho Springboks, for consideration August 27.—v. New Zealand, at Auckland (second test). August 31.—v. Waikato, at Hamilton. September 3.—v, Hawke’s Bay and Poverty Bay, at Napier. 7.—v. Maori representatives, at Napier. September 10.—v.‘ Nelson, Marlborough and Golden Ray, at Nelson. September 17.—v. New Zealand, at Wellington (final test). Tho (matches to bo played before the above rearrangement is reached are;— August 20.—v. Auckland. August 24.—v. Rotorua.
