In view of the recent stormy weather anxiety is felt for the safety of the schooner Thuraka, formerly the Yatala, 37 days out from Dunedin to Hobart in ballast.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. SIX O’CLOCK CLOSING. Received August 16, 10,5 p.m. Sydney, August 16. The Full Court delivered judgment on an appeal by the Crown against the Magistrate’s decision in connection with the closing of hotel bars. The Court ruled that the Act provided for six o’clock closing until a referendum of the people was taken on the question, and as a referendum had not been taken six o’clock closing must continue.—Aus.-N.Z.
