An eighteen-foot candle that is to be burned on every All Souks’ Day for the next 5000 years, is being made as a memorial to Caruso from the inmates of the orphanage to which Caruso contributed £2OOO annually. It will be placed in the Church of the Madonna, Pompeii, Naples, and will bum continuously for thirteen years.—Reuter Service.
