EXCESSIVE VALUATIONS. E?y Telegraph.—Press Association. Taihape, August 11. A Mrge and representative meeting of settleiU was held at Taihape on Wednesday evening at which tne following resolution was carried unanimously/ •That in view of the recent fall in land valueis, as borne out by the president of the l£and Valuations Assessment Court held - at Matton, the Valuer-General be ur/ged to reconsider the excessive valuations of land in the four northern ridI ings of the Rangitikei County; further that to avoid delay that would be involved in the new valuation, the Valuer-General be requested to make a Substantial percentage reduction in the vjpduatipns of all lands in the said ridBURGLARS SENTENCED. Palmerston North, August 11. Tbje Supreme Court prisoners were sentenced as follows;—Robert Gilmour AlleA and Edward Donovan, breaking, entering and theft, four years’ imprisojjnnent, . concurrent with the sentence 'already being served for burglary with 'violence at Wanganui.
