OFFICIAL VISIT TO OAMARU. By Telegraph. —PreM Association Oamaru, Last Night. Lord Jellicoe, accompanied hy Lady Jellicoe and the Hon. Lucy Jellicoe, paid his first official visit to Oamaru crus evening. He was tendered a dinner by the citizens, and afterwards he attended a reception. In the course of his reply to the address of welcome, Lord Jellicoe referred in eulogistic language to the memorial oaks that the town and country have planted along the highways in memory of the North Otago men who fell in the great war. Lord Jellicoe said that in all his travels he had not come across a more fitting memorial to the fallen; it was a living monument that would keep evergreen the memory of the brave sons of this district who did their duty at the cost of their lives in the great war.
