TARANAKI REPRESENTATIVE TEAM. The team to represent Taranaki in the challenge for the Hordern Cup. to.be playe.n at Marton next Saturday, will be chosen from the following: Goal, Binnie (Kaponga) ; backs. Humphries, Thoumine (Kaponga), McGuinness (Eltham) : half-backs, Page and Free (Eltham), Nicholls and Foreman (Kaponga) ; forwards. Pennington. Henricksen, Frethey (Eltham), Priest, Binnie (Kaponga), Foden (Rivals). If any player named above is unable to make tiro trip he is requested to notify the selectors at once—Messrs. G. Sage (Hawera), J. Davidson (Kaponga), and H. C. Johnson (Eltham). The final selection will be made on Thursday after the match Kaponga v. Eltham. TARANAKI LADIES’ REP. TEAM. With tho purpose of finding the best players to send to the ladies’ hockey tournament opening at Palmerston North on September 3, a game was played at Stratford on Saturday between teams representing Central and South Taranaki against North Taranaki. The ground was against the best play, though the game was fast. Tho northern team was beaten hy four goals to nil, the winners showing a better knowledge of the finer points of the game in the circle, though it must be said ttat the north players were fitter. The selectors have now decided that’ the following teams shall meet In order to make the final selection of fifteen to make the trip to Palmerston. It is hoped that the game w>ll be played at Hawera. The teams are:— Forwards.—E. Law, M. Kivell, D. Stone, H. Andrews, R. PSTiiier: halves, D. Sage", R. Soffe, I. Boon; backs, B. Nutting, F. Holmes; goal, M. Hale. Forwards—N. Curtis, M. Weston, C. Reid, SV. Henrickson, M. Death, F. Knapman; halves, E. Henry. E. Petersen, V. Bosson; backs, M. Thompson, ■G. Swadling; goal, I. Pratt.
