BABY BURNED.
CHARRED BODY IN FURNACE. By Telegraph.—Press AssoJarion. Auckland, Last Night. T’ho charred body of a newly-born male was found in the furnace’ uf a boiler in the laundry of the women’s division of the Mount Eden gaol. The mother is not known. At the inquest the doctor said that owing to the con'dition of the body no definite opinion ' was possible Whether the child had lived. The whole body was badly burned and charred, except a, small portion of i the neelaj which showed no signs of strangulation by cord or fingers.
