WAITARA.
(From Our Own. Correspondent.)'; July 11’. The returned soldiers’ ball took plaCzG on Thursday and Friday of last week, and was a brilliant success. Thursday evening was for the adults and Friday for the children, and everyone who attended speaks of having had a right royal time. The takings run close on £lOO. It is pleasing to report that the health m Mr. J. Rennie is improving. Mrs. McKendriek (nee Miss Lily Kienner) is on a visit to Waitara. She lives at To Aroha, where Mr. McKendrick is engaged in business. Captain Jensen has returned from his trip to Wellington with the dredge Paritutu and is taking charge of the o.v. Mahod on her forthcoming trips up the coast. Mr. -S. Wyllie, headmaster at the Waitara school, lias been granted leave of absence on account of sickness. It is hoped that he will soon bo returned to Health.
