Mr. Fow, Mayor of Hamilton, was a visitor to New Plymouth yesterday.
Mr. Jas. E. Tidd, president of the Waikato Winter Show Society, was a visitor to the Dominion Show at Hawera yesterday.
Sir William Herries left London yesterday on his return to New Zealand (says a cable from London). A London message reports the death of Lord Balfour of Burleigh. Lord Balfour did much valuable work as chairman of various commissions.
Mr. E F. Blundell left for Auckland last night en route for a holiday visit to Honolulu.
The death of Mr. Watkin Wynne, general manager of the Sydney Daily Telegraph Newspaper Company, is announced by oable.
