DOMINION WINTER SHOW.
OPENS AT HAWERA TO-DAY. Yesterday the various halls at the Dominion Dairy Show were hives of activity, everyone being busily engaged in putting the finishing touches to the various exhibits, so that everything will be in readiness for the opening cere* inony to-day. Indications point to the show easily attaining that high standard that has been set by previous show®, and given fine weather there should be a very large attendance. The management have made provision to cope with this, having installed tunistilest at the main entrance. The show will be opened by the Hon. C. J. Parr (Minister of Education) at 2 p.m. to-day. Yesterday judging of the hotter and cheese exhibits was completed, and a full report of the awards appears elsewhere. The judging o-f the school exhibits was started yesterday. A special feature this year is the exhibit of roots from the primary schools’ agricultural clubs.
