AN AGREEMENT REACHED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. London, June 30. The conference of the Amalgamated Engineers in London instructed the negotiation committee to continue negotiations with the owners forthwith. The engineering employers have reached a provisional agreement with . the men’s leaders, which will be presented as a joint recommendation to the conference this morning. After a heated debate an overwhelming majority of the engineers’ delegates’ conference recommended the acceptance of the provisional wage cut agreement, and members are balloting thereon. The agreement provides for two reductions of three shillings weekly in the time rate, and 7| per cent, in piece rates, operating from July 15 and August 15 Inspect ively.
