WOOL DISPOSAL.

BANKERS AND B.A.W.R.A. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. London, July 29. Australian bankers, interviewed with reference to Sir John Higgins’ criticisms of their attitude towards the B.A.W. R.A., deny that they have shown hostility. Their view, which was adopted in fullest agreement with the merchants, was that greater advantage would accrue from the disposal of the new clip in order to provide sinews of war with which to ease the exchange position, as compared with the B.A.W. R_A.’s plan. They emphasise that the bankers acted as the owners’ trustees and also point out that only half the proceeds from B.A.W.R.A. sales belong on the growers, the remainder going to the British Government; therefore it is not helping the Australian exchange.
