A SYDNEY LOAN.
DEBENTURES ON LONDON MARKET. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received May 31, 8.10 p.m. London, May 31. The Financial News says the Sydney loan of £1,000,000, in 6* per cent, debentures, issued at 99, proved an irresistible bait to “stags” (operators who apply for new security on the chance of selling it on allotment at a premium over the issue jrice), who commenced to clamber out when a premium of 2s 6d to 7s fid was established. Naturally this resulted in the premium rapidly dis-appearing.—Aus.-IT.Z. Cable Assn.
