Bernard Gregory Mullins, who was charged with manslaughter, arising out of a motor-car fatality in which two young people were killed, was acquitted in the Supreme Court to-day. AUCKLAND SESSIONS. Auckland, May 27. At the Supreme Court in the re-trial of Franklin John Smith on alternative charges of rape and indecent assault recently granted by the appeal Court, the jury returned a verdict of guilty on the minor account, and Mr. Justice Stringer sentenced accused to three years 4 imprisonment dating from his former conviction on a charge of rape.
