CHARGE OF THE ISRAELITES.

CARED NOTHING FOR BULLETS. CHARGE OF SEDITION FOLLOWS. By Telegraph.-—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received May 27, 11.20 p.m. Capetown, May 26. The prophet Nooh was charged with sedition in the Queenstown Court. He is a big, confident man, about 55, dressed in good European clothing, and, like all Israelites, his head is shaven.

Officers and men who fought in Africa and France say they never saw anything to equal the madness of the charge of the Isrealites, who cared nothing for bayonet or bullet, and took their punishment without a murmer. One of the wounded states the arrangements for the battle were complete. The natives were drawn up in four squadrons and instructed to wait till the troops were at close quarters, and then to rush them with swords and assegais.

The South African Native Congress sitting at Bloemfontein carried a resolution strongly pro-testing against the pogrom action of the authorities at Bullhock, and expressing doubt whether the same measures would have been taken against Europeans in similar circumstances. The Congress then adjourned and marched in procession bareheaded through the location, a band playing the Dead March Then a service in memory of the dead was held.—• Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
