BOLSHEVISM IN THE EAST.
THREAT TO AFGHANISTAN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received May 26, 9.50 p.m. Delhi, May 24. A Kabul newspaper announces the formation at Bokhara of an Afghan revolutionary society aiming at the overthrow of the Government of Afghanistan. sThe society is being encouraged by the Bokharan Government. The paper comments that Afghanistan did its utmost to ensure Bokhara’s freedom and independence. If Bokhara Is an independent State is this the reward for Afghanistan’s devoted friendship? If somebody else is responsible, what can be the meaning of Bokharan independence? The present Bokharan Government is Bolshevik, and does the news foreshadow a Bolshevik intention to try to repeat in Afghanistan the overthrow successfully worked in Bokhara ?—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
