NEW ZEALAND LEAGUE TEAM. SOUTH AFRICAN DATES. By Telesrap?..- Press Assn —CopyrlsM, Received May 16, 8 p.m. Sydney, May 16. In connection with the visit of the New Zealand League team, the only matches definitely fix'ed bo far are June 4, when two New South Wales teams play New Zealand and Queensland teams, and June 6, when New Zealand meets either New T South Wales or Queensland, according to the showing on the first day’s play. On the strength of these tests the team will ‘be selected for England. The New Zealanders’ tour may subsequently embrace matches against the North Coast or Queensland. The dates fixed for the New Zealand University team’s matches are against Metropolis on May 28, June 6 and 11; Duntroon, June 1. In consequence of the South Africans’ delay the Springbok itinerary is being re-arranged. The team is expected here on June 20. The secretary of the Rugby Union has written to New Zealand seeking endorsement of the following dates for matches against New South Wales:—June 25 and 27, and July 2 and 9. The team will sail for New Zealand on July 13, and play the first match there on July 20. Nothing, however, has been definitely fixed until New Zealand’s reply has been received. — Aus.-N.Z.
