ADDITIONAL FIGURES.

Further figures relating to the recent census have been issued by the Government Statistician (Mr. Malcolm Fraser). The figures given below in each case exclude Maori population:—

INVERCARGILL.

The population of Invercargill is 15,204, against 14,157 in 1916, and that of South Invercargill is 1834, compared with 1712 last census.

WAIMATE WEST.

The population of Waimate West County (excluding Manaia Town District) is:—Males 1260, females 1090; total 2350. The census of 1916 showed the population of Waimate West as 2635.
