COMPENSATION FOR WIDOW.

At the Arbitration Court, Isabel Gordon was awarded, by consent, £5OO against the Goldfinch Company, sawmillers, Ohakune, for the death of her husband, who, while an employee of the firm named, fatally strained his heart; Among awards filed were the Wellington journalists’ country award (an agreement was reached before the Conciliation Court), and the mercantile marine masters’ and officers’ award for JOG to WQ*t9tL veMelL
