MOTOR ACCIDENT.

TWO PEOPLE SERIOUSLY INJURED.

At Manaia on Wednesday evening a car accidentally ran over Mr. William Hair and his housekeeper (Mrs. Tyrell), who were walking into town. Both were knocked down and seriously injured. Mrs. Tyrell sustained a broken leg, whilst Mr. Hair had his head cut open, his chest injured, and one of his legs badly smashed. Mr. Hair, who is 82 years of age, has been a resident of the Plains for over thirty years, and is well known throughout South Taranaki. Yesterday there was no improvement in Mr. Hair’s condition, which is critical.
