WELLINGTON ,MILK CASE.

The Supreme Court has reserved judgment in the case in which the*milk vendors of number three block in Wellington sued the City Corporation, claiming £1299 damages for loss of profit by reason of the alleged failure of the corporations’ milk depot to supply them with milk required during the winter months.

Holland, M.P. ’lt unanimously passed a resolution, moved by Mr. Parry, condemning the Government’s censorship of certain literature, and urging a united working-class effort to secure the release of Frederick Johnson, who “is suffering imprisonment for a breach of repressive laws.’’ and recommending workers to resort to every legitimate means to secure the repeal of the law.

ELIGIBILITY AS SOLICITOR

Wellington, May 2.

The Court of Appeal delivered judgment this morning in the case of Frederick John Smith, who claimed adinission as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New Zealand. The case wifs heard on April 12. The applicant had practised as a law agent in Scotland, and the court decided that this did not entitle him to admission as a solicitor in New Zealand without examination.

PRISONERS ON ROAD WORKS.

Wellington, Last Night. The Hon. E. P. Lee (Minister of Justice) says the road construction work done by the prisons’ administration over the waste stretch of country between Waimarino and Tokaanu is a valuable asset to the Dominion. The work of properly constructing the road between Ohakune and Waimarino has also been undertaken. The works provided healthy employment for the prisoners.
