WELLINGTON COURT.
ALLEGED THEFT OF FUNDS.

At the Magistrate's Court to-day, George BeekeM was charged with the theft of £3 15s 9d, the property o-f the Wanganui Returned Soldiers’ Association. He was remanded to appear at Wanganui to-morrow. • Andrew 'Martin Carroll was remanded on sis v charges of obtaining considerable quantities of whisky from local wine and spirit merchants by means of false representations.
Reserved judgment was delivered in the case of John Boyd Brown, licensee of the Clyde Quay Hotel, who was charged with opening the hotel for the sale of liquor during prohibited hours. He was fined l ' £5 and costs. Notice of appeal was given.
