CHILD DIES FROM BURNS.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taihape, Last Night, A girl named Gloria Luxtou, two years of age, died at the Taihape Hospital yesterday as a result of "burns sustained through her clothing catching fire at Ohakune on Saturday morning.
DEATH FROM CHOKING
Auckland, May 2. The body of D. McDade,, greaser on the steamer Matatua, was found on a vacant lot in town. A post-mortem showed that a piece of meat had lodged in his throat, and that death was probably due to choking.
A FISHERMAN DROWNED.
Wellington, May 2. John Jacll, a fisherman, aged 58, when returning to Island Bay with two companions after a day’s fishing, was lost overboard and drowned. His body was not recovered. Deceased was a native of Shetland Islands and had no relatives in New Zealand.
