ELTHAM’S POPULATION.
NEW PLYMOUTH “ESTIMATE.”
Some of the census papers in New Plymouth have not yet been collected, so it will be some time before the population of the town will be known. The “estimated” population is between 10,000 and 11,000.
The population of Eltham at the recent census totalled approximately 2020, or an increase of nearly 300 on the total number of persons living in the borough in 1910, when the previous census was taken. The figures then were 1722, while at the census of 1911 the number was 1737. Additional census returns, as sent out by the Press Association last night, are:—
