LIQUOR POLL.
WEST AUSTRALIA RETAINS HOTELS.
By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Received May 2, 10.10 p.m. Perth, May 2. Although the count is incomplete it is obvious no single licensing district will have the required three-fifths majority to send it dry and the best that temperance reformers can hope for is a reduction in some suburban and country districts. But the reduction will be of little value, because owing to the Licensing Court’s policy no new licenses have been issued except ip absolutely newly-established country areas. The poll regarding State control of hotels is not seriously considered by either side. —Aus.-N.Z. Cabje Assn.
