AUCKLAND TRAMS.
UNION SEEKS MORE PAY.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. In response to an application of the Tramways’ Union for an increase of threepence per hour in wages for members the public services committee of the City Council made an offer of one penfly. This was submitted to the men and it was decided to refer it back with a view to further representations being made. It is understood that the union delegates were informed that if the full amount asked for were granted the sum involved yearly would be in the vicinity of £2!4',000, which would necessitate an increase in tram fares.
