The Shipping Controller has sold the German steamers Wendliind, Friesland, Munsterland, Sauerland, and Vogdland, of which the gross tonnage, averages about eleven thousand deadweight, and ranges from 15,400 to 16,800. Four of the vessels were built in 1920, and one in 1917 for £532,500, representing an average of £0 12s 6d a ton deadweight. The Australian Press Association under, stands that the purchasers are the Federal Steam Navigation Company.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
