THE WOOL MARKET.

A CRITICAL POSITION. By Telegraph.- Press Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne, April 25. Sir John Higgins, chairman of Bawra, has published a statement regarding the wool position. He declares there is imminent danger of a complete collapse of the wool and issues a stern warning against tl'iose who urge that the market should be allowed to take its course, thus encouraging the wholesale undercutting of prices. Ho also declares that unrestricted competition will render the current season’s clip valueless, and counsels the complete organisation of wool interests in order to make the best of an unprecedently bad situation. The statement concludes: “Responsibility for the threatened debacle must rest on the shoulders of those who fail to render assistance to Australia’s most important primary industry.”
