London, April 23. Mr. Storey has arranged for a loan of £6,500,000, of which three millions will probably be floated in June and the balance a year later/ F.C.'O.& MARKET REPORI. The Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society of N.Z., Ltd. (Hawera), report as follows for the week ending April 23: At Okaiawa, on Monday, we had a fair yarding of cattle. Prices were on a par with late sales, Best cows made to £4 Ils, forward cows to £3 18s, stores £1 to £1 16s, Jersey weaner heifers £3 15s, others £1 to £1 10s. On Wednesday, at Elthaun, a large number of cattle were yarded, and although' the prices were not above late rates, bidding was brisk and the whole yarding was sold at auction. Fat cows made £5 10s, fresh conditioned ditto £2 10s to £3 ss, store cows £1 to £2, 18-montb Jersey heifers in calf £6 10s, 18-month empty Jersey heifers £4, weaner heifers 15s to 355. At Hawera, on Thursday, we had a large entry of all classes of cattle and a fair number of sheep. There was a good demand for cows, and a satisfactory clearance was effected. The prices showed a slight Improvement on late sales. We quote:—Sow and litter £2 2s 6d, lambs to 7s, 4 and syr-old ewes 5s 8d to 6s 3d, bulls £1 5s to £1 12s, fat cows £5 17s to £6 17s, forward cows to £3 IQs, store ditto at late rates; 18-month Shorthorn heifers £2 13s to £3, Jersey cross weaner heifers to £2 17s, other breeds 27s 6d, Jersey dairy cows to £l2, and Jersey dairy heifers to £l3 ss. On Friday, at Waverley, we had a good yarding of sheep. Cattle were not yarded in any numbers, but practically the whole yarding was sold under the hammer. Two and four tooth wethers 12s Id, lambs 6s 9d to 8s 7d, Jersey dairy heifers £l3, 2%-year steers £3 ss, and Jersey cross weaner heifers £2 10s. On Friday, at Kaponga, there was a fair yarding of all classes of grown cattle. Competition was keen, and stock changed hands at late rates.
