In the semi-final of the match play at the Rockhfrthpton golf tournament, Ockenden beat F. Ball, 3 up and 2 to play; J. H. Taylor beat F. Leach, 1 up on the last green, after a very close struggle. In the final, Taylor beat Oekenden, 5 up and 4 to play. The newspapers pay a tribute to the “old tin’s” triumph over the pick of the younger professionals, including the British, American and Canadian champions.
