BANNER COMPETITION. HAWERA DEFEATS AVON. Teams representing the Hawera and Avon Clubs, met on the Avon green on Saturday afternoon in the banner competition, the match resulting in a win for Hawera by 145 points to 115. During the afternoon the usual exchange of courtesies took place, Mr. Foy speaking on behalf of the Hawera Club and Mr. J. Masters on behalf of Avon.
