DRIVERS’ AWARD. By Telegraph.—Press Association * Dunedin, Last Night, The decision of the Conciliation Council has been accepted as a settlement of the drivers’ dispute for the Dominion. Hours are fixed at 48 a week. The minimum wage for a worker attending and driving one horse is £3 15s, two or more horses £3 17s Gd. Driving and attending motor vehicles range from £3 18s to £4 6s 6d. A bonus of 10s is to be paid for working on Sundays, Christmas Day, and Good Friday, with 3s Id an hour on other holidays. Overtime will be at 2s 3d. Casual drivers receive a minimum of four hours’ pay. Youths’ pay ranges from £2 to £2 14s. NAPIER LOANS. Napier, LAst Night. Loan proposals for amounts aggregating nearly £300.000 were submitted to the ratepayers to-day. All were defeated with the exception of a £60,100 loan for tramway extension and plant, and a £29,100 loan for water supply and sewerage work for Napier South.
