FOOTBALL.

HAHOTU CLUB. The annual meeting of the Rahotu Football Club was held on Marci* 24, there being a fair attendance of members. Mr. M. F. Voullairs, who was elected president for the ensuing year, occupied the chair. In presenting the annual report, the secretary (Mr. D. J. O’Neill), said he was sure all present would agree that the past season had been a most successful one. Though somewhat hampered by a shortage of backs, and, in the case of many of tke younger players, by lack of training, both senior and junior teams had made a good showing in their respective competitions, while financially, despite the heavy expenditure incurred by the club through defraying 50 per cent, of all travelling expenses, the balance sheet showed a credit of £l7 7s 3d. This, with the balance in hand at the commencement of the season, gave a total credit balance of £26 15s lOd, which was, in his opinion, very satisfactory. Regarding his resignation, though he regretted severing his connection with the club, he had been unable to reconsider his decision, and must ask to be relieved of the position. In moving that the secretary’s resignation be accepted with regret, Mr. W. C. Green spoke warmly of Mr. O'Neill's services to the club during the two years he had held the position. There could be no doubt, he said, that the present satisfactory state of the club’s affairs was largely due to the personal efforts of the retiring secretary. Several other members spoke in similar terms, and the motion was carried.

The election of officers resulted as fallows: — Patron, Mr. G. Gibson; Messrs. L. Billing, C. W. Field, A. F. Chapman, R. Jury, D. J. O'Neill, A. Cameron, W. B. Dawson, D. Quickenden, J. Williamson, A. Gray, G. Bell, H. G. Clarke, and J. Yep, with power to kdd. Secretaries, Messrs. Ed. M. Gibson, P. A. Chapman; club captain, Mr. N. C. Morgan; coach, Mr. W. Milne; management committee, Messrs. Morgan, Gilhooley, Billing, Y. Chapman, Hunter, WiJliamson, A. Gibson, with the president and secretaries ex officio.

At a subsequent meeting of the management committee, it was decided to open the season with a social and dance, and a sub-committee was appointed to arrange for same.
