BACKBLOCKS MISSION.
BAISING OF FUNDS. A sale of produce and flowers was held in St. Mary’s Hall,ftSTew Plymouth, yesterday afternoon in aid of the Backblocks’ Mission Fund, and it was well patronised, the function proving very successful. Financially the sale should result in about £27 being handed over to the fund. The stall-holders were: Produce, Misses Curtis, Smith and McKellar; flowers, Mesdames G. List, and Neal; vegetables, Miss Mace and Mrs. Dadd; parcel stall, Mrs. Wilson; afternoon tea, Miss Norman, Miss- Fairhall 'and Mr®. Farrar, assisted by Misses Home, Whitton, Arden and Russell. The general arrangement of the sale was under the control of the Backblocks’ Mission League, with Miss Godfrey as secretary.
During the afternoon a musical programme was given. Songs were contributed by Mrs. Ferry, Mrs. T. C. List, Misses Lnmbett, Home and Greig, while pianoforte and violin solo® were played by Mrs. Wood and Miss Millar, and the accomf animents were played by Mesdames Wood and Fredric.
