THE WOOL MARKET.

REDUCING THE OFFERINGS NEGOTIATIONS AT HOME. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.-—Copyright, Received April 3, 5.5 p.m. London, April 1. Negotiations are proceeding between the B.A.W.R.A. and the Colonial Wool Merchants' Association to reach an agreement to regulate the offerings of wool in Australia and England in ' accordance with the Melbourne resolu ; tion. Sir Arthur Goldfinch (Director of Raw Materials), attended to-day’s meeting, at which Mr. Harry Dawson stated that West Riding textilers heartily welcome the arrangements for drastically reducing the wool offerings to prevent the continuance of the demoralising decline. The meeting agreed to the proposed offering of 115,090 bales at the April auctions in London. This is considerably more than the conditions justified, but it is impossible to change now. The B.A.W-R.A., however, decided to reduce the offerings of their wool from 60,000 to 15,000 or 20,000 bales, also fixing the reserve prices for the FebruaryMarch series.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
