ALLIED LOANS.
NOT TO BE CANCELLED. THE DECISION OF AMERICA. REPARATIONS FROM GERMANY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received April 3, 5.5 p.m. Washington, April 2. It is learned from the highest authority that Cabinet has decided that tho United States will not cancel any Allied loans, which are regarded as a valuable asset. The announcement is rendered important by the fact that France has a heavy interest payment due on April 15. However, officials intimated that any reasonable adjustment for which France may ask regarding the manner of payment will be acceptable. The State Department has admitted that informal negotiations between the American Commission in Berlin and the German authorities are in progress regarding reparation, but they direct that a decision had been reached- The State Department’s announcement follows reports from London that Germany has intima'ted to Washington her willingness to discuss taking over part of the Allied debts.—Aus.-N.Z.
