POLICY IN INDIA.

INTERFERENCE FROM ENGLAND. ' RESENTED BY EUROPEANS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received March 28, 7 p.m. Delhi, March 26. Sir Frank Carter, on behalf df the European non-official members of the Indian Legislature, cabled to Lord Ampthill, president of the Indian Emergency 1 Committee in London, deprecating the formation of such a body. Lord Ampthill replied: “Mind your own business; it cannot hurt you. England should know the truth, and Englishmen will not stand anything else.” The European community is furious at Lord Amp th ill’s studied discourtesy and foolish cable. Sir Frank Carter is a leading man, who remained in India to take part in public affairs after retiring from business. He was Sheriff of Calcutta recently. The Press unanimously condemns Lord Ampthill because Sir Frank Carter is the mouthpiece of responsible European opinion. The papers consider Lord Ampthill is stirring up racial hatred.—Aus. and N.Z.
