MOUNTAINEERING.
DAWSON’S FALLS’ CLUB. At a meeting held at the Dawson’s Falls’ Mountain House during the holidays with the idea of fostering interest in Mt. Egmont and the National Park, it was decided to form a club to be called the “Dawson Falls’ Mountain. Club.” The chairman (Mr. Marshall) said the convenors of the meeting had in yiew the idea of improving the accommodation at the hostel, the construction of tennis lawns, and maintenace of the tracks. Mr. H. Graves was elected president, and Messrs. R. E. Dowling, Marshall, Tibbetts, H. L. Spratt, D. L. Bone and Miss Lovel vice-presidents. It was decided to have ten vice-presidents and a big executive committee of regular visitors to the mountain. Mr. H. B. Gibson. of Kaponga, was elected secretary to the club and just on 40 members were enrolled, these Visitors from various parts of the North Island.
