KEEN CONTEST EXPECTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wallington, Last Night. A possible splitting of votes in connection with the Mayoral election, where Mr. Hickey (Labor) and -several other candidates are in the field, is exercising the minds of local assiociation<s. Several meetings have been held, and at -the last three candidate's —Messrs. Weston, Norwood and Wright—attended, Messrs. Mackenzie and Hhslio-p declin-in-g the invitation. It was decided that Messrs. Weston and Norwood should withdraw, and give their support to Mr. Wright, who declares that he will contest the sieat against all comers. Mr. Leix Mackenzie makes a similar announcement, and. with Mr. Hislop also in the field, the position is interesting.
