ST JOHNS. On Saturday the following New Plymouth team play rinks from St. John's (Wanganui), on the New Plymouth green (commencing at 9 a.m.) ; —Carter, Dempsey, Burgess, Cresswell (s) , Beatson, Dickson, Luscombe, Fookes (s) ; Hooper, Willis, W. Smith, A. K. Smart (s) ; Knuckey, O’Shea, Firth, H. Smart (s); Cleaver, Phillips, S. Rundle, Rolston (s). FITZROY' CLUB. A circular from the Dominion Bowling Association, asking for an opinion on affairs regarding the control of future tournaments, was considered at a meeting of the Eitzroy Club, held on Tuesday night. Mr. A. S. Brooker presided. It was decided that the club was in faror of rinks only being played at the Dominion ' tournament, w’th two games of 25 heads each day; that the singles and pairs championship be competed for by the Centre ascertained champions on greens of a Centre other than those of the four main centres at a later date in tl:e season than that of the t'ournaV meat; that a permanent secretary is desirable, providing that the finding of accommodation and other anatters required of the secretary by outside bowlers can be satisfactorily arranged. The club was .also in favor of a stated penalty being laid down for the breach of the rule "one foot on the mat.” For the first observed breach tl:e offender to be cautioned, and for the second and subsequent breaches the bowl to be declared dead and removed from the green, and if the bowl so removed has previously come into contact with any other bowl or the jack the opponents shall have the option of leaving the hefcd as it is or declaring it dead. It was decided to recommend that in the Dominion tournaments the number of nominations accepted should be governed by the greens available.
