ENGLISH TEAM’S FAREWELL. THE CAPTAIN’S THANKS. By Telegraph.-'Fress Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne, March 10. Colonel Douglas (captain) and Mr. Toone (■manager) were the recipients of presentations at the Cricket Association farewell. Colonel Douglas said he would never forget the hospitable treatment they had received. His team had been beaten by a side which batted better, bowled better, and dropped fewer catches. Mr. Toone thanked the public for the sporting way in which they invariably treated the visiting players, the few isolated exceptions being unworthy of notice.
