RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE DOMINION MEETING. YESTERDAY’S RESULTS, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. To-day has witnessed the cleaning up of various events in readiness for the final event to-morrow, when the inter-island contest will occupy the morning and the King's Prize match the afternoon. It is eipected the Governor-General and Lady Jellicoe will be present, with leading military officers, and the fact that the leaders for the Belt are so close together should attract a good attendance of (he public. The morning was fine, but passing clouds made the light variable and elevation hard to guage. Though the flags along the range seldom showed more than a breeze, it was of the fish tail variety, .and near the target developed quite a strong pace, which tie marksmen on the mounds did not realise, with disastrous results to the scores. In the long trial of fifteen shots at 900 yards to- complete the Australasian match, Crimp, of Dunedin, got on a meritorious 69 put of 75, and pulled into second place, coy knocked up 62, and having a better score at a previous stage, won the first price. The Imperial Aggregate, compiled from the Australasian and certain Belt matches, was won by West, the consistent Blenheim man, who, for two years past, has been fighting Lard for rifle premiership. The Service Championship was also completed, and found Hester occupying top position in the list, while D. McLeay and R. J. King had to fire off to decide second and third places. McLeay won. The afternoon was occupied / with the champion teams’ match. Sir Heaton Rhodes, Minister for Defence, paid a brief visit to the range during the morning. Following is' to-day's prize list:—
