PROTECTORATE UNSATISFACTORY. NEW POLICY TO BE By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. Received. March 4, 7.25 p.m. London, March 4. The Government has sent a message to the Sultan of Egypt to the effect that they have come to the conclusion that the status of a Protectorate declared in November, 1914, furnishes an unsatisfactory relation between Britain and Egypt. ' They desire, therefore, an open discussion with an Egyptian delegation with a view to establishing a different relationship, securing Britain’s special interests and offering adequate guarantees to foreign Powers, and meeting the legitimate aspirations of Egypt. —Aus.-N.Z.
