INJURED BY EXPLOSION.

BLOWN 30 FEET - IN AIR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. Owing to the explosion of a box containing blasting powder and gelignite at the East Coast railway works at Eskdale, an employee named. William Morgan had his left arm blown off, his right eye severely injured, and he was badly burnt about the body. The accident is thought to have been caused by a spark from a steam navvy. Workmen in the vicinity saw Morgan hurled 30 feet into the air. He was removed to the Napier hospital, and is reported to be progressing satisfactorily after an operation.
