Sir James Allen sighed the coal contract to-day with Messrs James Burnesg and Sons, coal exporters, Cardiff, for 150,000 tons, to be dispatched at the rate of 12,500 tons a month, commencing forthwith and finishing in February 1922, by the New Zealand Shipping Co., the Shaw Savill Co., the Commonwealth and Dominion Line, and British India liners; also the federal Line, if necessary. The c.i.f. price is slightly under ninety shillings a ton, of whicl about thirty shillings is freight.—Au«.N.Z. Cable Assn.
