THREE YEARS’ PROBATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington. Feb. 12. In the Supreme Court, William Herbert Millen, for forgery and uttering, was admitted to probation for three years. “TWO-UP” AT FOXTON. Foxton, Feb. 12. At the local court yesterday, before Mr Stout, S.M., thirty-five persons were charged with having played “two-up ’ on a recent Sunday. All the accused were represented by counsel. The charges against five persons were withdrawn, they (not having participated in the game. • The case was adjourned to hear legal argument on the definition of a public place, the rendezvous being a borough reserve leased to a private firm.
