FEDERAL REVENUE RETURNS. By Talecrapli.—Tress Ass».—Copyright. Melbourne, Feb. 12. The complete revenue totals of the Commonwealth for the half-year ended December 31 are:—Receipts 27,000,000, which i.s £.7,747,000 more than • previously; expenditure £26,773,000, or seven millions more than for the corresponding period of 1019. The public debt is now £397,663,000, against which the Commonwealth has assets valued at £41,000,000. STATE ORCHESTRA TO DISBAND. Sydney, Feb. 12. The Government has decided to disband the State Orchestra. Herr Verbruggen states that this will not only be a loss to the musical Community' but a calamity to citizens of culture generally. He has every confidence that there are sufficient enthusiasts in Sydney to keep the orchestra going. Referring to the abandoned New Zealand tour he said the visit was not only inconvenient at this stage, but he doubted whetfier it would be such a sue. cess as if carried out as originally planned.
