FIRE AT A HOSPITAL.
MOTHERS AND BABIES SAVED. London, Jan. 13. Exciting scenes were witnessed at Edinburgh in a maternity hospital situated on the fourth and fifth floors of a building in ancient High Street, which was cut oft’ by fire. Six mothers and seven babies were lowered to the street in slings and cradles, without a casualty. Crowds in the street cheered the feat.
