THE FUTURE NAVY.
THE BIG SHIPS CONTROVERSY. By Telegraph —Press Assn —Copyright Received Jan. 30, 5.5 p.m. London, Jan. 29. Since the Daily Chronicle announced that the Sub-committee of Imperial Defence had decided to recommend the Imperial Government to stop building big ships, the sub-committee has continued its enquiry. It is known that a large body at the Admiralty evidently are in favor of continuing to build big ships, though the financial difficulties are verv great. It is now understood that Cabinet will not come to a final decision in the matter until it has consulted the Dominions at the Premiers’ Conference. —Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
